Golf : A hole in one, is it really the case?
Means must upon 1st swing of the iron for the very first time, the golf ball goes in the hole. Most ppl do it only after many games or strokes (tongue in cheek?)

Marathon of the '70s : No fast food and no fasting on food
Blogger managed to run, jog-a-walk the entire marathon from Fort Road to jus before Changi Coastal Rd, through 1 day of abt 6 hours though, when the bes did it in abt 2 to 3 hours. That time, never heard of mths and mths of preparation but these days better do ...
Marathon (Stanchart) : Monitor B P and Be prepared
!st Sun every Dec,
On the day itself but prior to that :
Have a kit-kat? Or other power bars. Fatigue if no more, so load with carbohydrates to convert in2 muscle glycogen to work ur muscles, else how run, now can how lian run? Not too filling low-residue familiar food for that comfortable run. Know ur own & the surrounding temp. Blood will be diverted to "diffuse" heat (beware that all too familiar stroke affecting many organs, the mental state, palpitations, pain), sweating can affect supply of oxygen. Can stand the humidity?
Sleep well. then wear suitable
shoes, not dark but h-airy
(ie can show ur hair thru the air-holes of the)
clothes
so that lady drivers of the morn (in the wee hours) can see & wolf-whistle at u,
heating u up but suffice 2 warm up jus
before running far but no need 2 run fast from them,
Before that day :
Must have medical test esp for those with ischemic heart disease and hypertension
Test test ie 2 know ur aenergy needs, acclimatise, trial run at least 0.75 % of marathon dist to know ur limits.
That serious - a few months of preparation leading up to the marathon.
Alt many mileage with "off-loading" and cross or x-training (not no training neither should personality be split as to what type of "asexual!" training is befitting).
Note that other acty like rowing, swimming, footballing, bicyling though not motorcyling helps prepare one for the most natural acty ie running, not gay nor jay-walking, which demands less preparation
A few times, ea of about half an hour. recommended per week.
Cases of fatalities all over globe. Collapses. Heat or muscoskeletal injuries
But if just "marathon-discussion", no need that much prepartion, jus yak away with plenty of H2O, no need 100-plus.
